Revisiting Teletherapy

In this video, the deTASO team explores the utilization of teletherapy services in Arkansas. With the Governor’s declaration of a state of emergency due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we felt compelled to use our resources to compile valuable information pertaining to the provision of teletherapy services for Occupational, Physical and Speech Therapy. This presentation was not exclusive to clients of deTASO and was intended to be an aid to all providers across the state.

This comprehensive presentation looks at the creation of teletherapy and the legislation that made it possible to providers across the state. This presentation also attempts to provide information relevant to rendering such services including the need to have an existing relationship and treatment script for the patient. We also explore the specifics of the legislation like the fifteen-minute unit size and weekly billing limits. We even address what teletherapy cannot be used for such as evaluations.

This presentation also includes reliable patient-confidentiality practices such as the technology recommended and some best practices our team has gleaned from our existing clients. Finally, in this presentation, we look at the legislation and the published billing documentation. This includes a look at the most efficient way to bill for such services, proper documentation of the treatment and recommended billing information. Throughout the presentation we try to address any specific question that was asked by those who attended the webinar. Again, the presentation was not limited to deTASO users and was compiled to help the industry in these unprecedented times.

Legislation and billing information is accurate up to the day that this webinar was performed. Legislation and standards can and do change at any time so it is recommended by the deTASO team to contact your customer success representative or reach out to our sales team with any questions about current best practices.
